We collect data to learn more about us

Being impacted by noise on a regular basis is emotional. Now we can move beyond emotion to action with data that verifies our experiences.

The “Not 311” Noise Report helped people take action and create a community. Now the city is listening and we are informing them about the broken processes and, through data, telling our story.

Many want to take measurements using their phone, below are our recommended apps. The Regulations and Laws around noise are complex, and we are becoming informed about them so that we can understand where we need to push for change.

311 Service Request Workflow for Moving Vehicles: A flowchart illustrating the process for reporting vehicle noise via 311 in Toronto. The workflow has two attempts. In Attempt 1, a person reports an issue to 311, which directs them to contact the police, leading to the case being closed, but resulting in dissatisfaction. In Attempt 2, the person contacts the police directly, gathers photographic evidence, but ultimately does not file a complaint. The workflow ends with an unresolved outcome.
